More than 120 years ago, social activist and Chicagoan Hannah G. Solomon founded a Jewish women’s organization that would ‘shape the destinies’ of people’s lives.  Thanks to Hannah’s vision and your donations, NCJW remains at the forefront of social justice.Your donation provide the following services yearly:               

  • More than 150 women in domestic violence shelters start their new life via our Luggage for Freedom program
  • 400 needy people receive a free, fresh, hot meal as well as a ‘take home’ meal, provided entirely by NCJW volunteers
  • Thousands of people annually view NCJW’s Silent Witness Exhibit. These figures of women provide a powerful visual impact. raising awareness of the tragedy and loss we all suffer when lives are taken senselessly through violence
  • 1,400 Criminal Court cases and 700 Orders of Protection cases monitored by NCJW Court Watchers
  • 20 at-risk preschool children receive reading readiness assistance bi-weekly from NCJW volunteers through our Ready for Reading program
