The mission of the Highland Park-Highwood Legal Aid Clinic is to provide pro bono legal services to low-income* individuals who live or work in Highland Park or Highwood in the areas of immigration, housing, and domestic violence. *There are no income requirements for victims of domestic violence. The National Council of Jewish Women is a grassroots organization of volunteers & advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, & families & by safeguarding individual rights & freedoms. For over a century, NCJW has been at the forefront of social change. NCJW members are outspoken champions for progressive policies at the federal, state, & local levels. NCJW and HPHLAC will each talk about domestic violence and the steps each organization is taking to help and support victims and survivors. Sips and Light bites will be served.
