Judith Gethner, Executive Director of Illinois Partners for Human Service, will present a Legislative Update: Illinois’ budget and human services. Are we really out of the woods? Hear what the Human Service nonprofit world thinks. Illinois Partners for Human Service is a state-wide organization of over 800 partners who are located in every legislative district in Illinois. The Chicago Alliance for Collaborative Effort (CACE) formed Illinois Partners for Human Service in 2008. As an umbrella federation of more than twenty service organizations in Chicago, CACE has a long standing history of creating initiatives to support the human service and health sectors. Illinois Partners for Human Service ensures human service providers have a seat at the table when decisions are made that impact their future.
In 2009, Judith Gethner founded Illinois Partners for Human Service and is currently its Executive Director. Today, her organization has over 800 human services provider partners located in every legislative district in Illinois. A leading voice within the sector, Judith led a successful campaign to educate service providers on fiscal issues as well as the budget impasse. Her collaborative advocacy efforts with community organizations, state agencies, elected officials, and the private sector has raised awareness and produced results. Judith Gethner is a native Chicagoan. She has a B.S. from Northern Illinois University and an M.A from Northeastern Illinois University.
