Luggage for Freedom Collection Drive

Luggage for Freedom, a project of the National Council of Jewish Women, is holding a collection drive on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 11:00am – 1:00 pm at Extra Space Storage located at 1620 Old Deerfield Road in Highland Park. They will be collecting donations of the following:

Extra Space Storage is a drive-through facility. No need to get out of your car. Just follow the signs and volunteers will take your donations out of your car!

Luggage for Freedom is an initiative of NCJW Chicago North Shore Section. Its goal is to provide a sense of dignity to women who are staying at and transitioning out of domestic violence and homeless shelters, by giving them a suitcase packed with sheets, towels and toiletries. Luggage for Freedom also provides backpacks filled with books and stuffed animals for children. Our volunteers pack an average of 125 suitcases and over 150 backpacks and deliver them to 9 shelters in the Chicagoland area. Luggage for Freedom has an incredible ability to directly impact women and children in a positive way, at a time when they are most vulnerable.
