Since the June 2022 Dobbs decision, many states have passed legislation increasing restrictions and access to abortion, forcing thousands of patients to travel to Illinois to seek an abortion, with a nearly 25% uptick in out of state patients traveling from 40 different states.

Understanding the social, emotional and financial challenges patients may experience, NCJW created the Care Kit initiative to provide comfort to patients during such a vulnerable moment in their lives. The comfort care kits were designed in conjunction with Planned Parenthood of Illinois and have provided solace for hundreds of patients.
