Spotlight Salon: The Many Faces of Addiction and Ways Out.

7:00 pm — 8:15 pm

Virtual, via Zoom

What do Draft Kings, hot yoga, and your debit card all have in common? They are all sources of addiction in our community. Addiction can affect anyone. The Jewish community is far from being immune to addiction, with its own particular vulnerabilities. Registration is below.

On Monday night, August 11th, we’ll discuss these vulnerabilities, as well as how to differentiate between safe, mildly problematic, and dangerous patterns of drug use, internet gambling, and other addictive behaviors. Join our featured speaker, Dr Beth Fishman, Program Manager of Addiction Services at JCFS Chicago for this important conversation. You’ll learn the best ways to protect your kids, your parents, and yourself from sliding down the slippery slope from the 4 cups of wine at Seder to 4 cups at lunch every day…..from betting on dreidel to bankruptcy…. from Hot Yoga to Hot Mess.
