Mother’s Day Project – A Double Mitzvah!

April 23, 8:00 pm

The Mother’s Day Project provides Gift Bags for survivors at two local domestic violence shelters – Family Shelter Services of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage and Mary Lou’s Place, YWCA Evanston/North Shore’s Safe Emergency Shelter.

You can help us make this a special Mother’s Day for women at the shelters, and at the same time, honor the women in your life. For each donation of at least $18, we will send a Mother’s Day card to your mother, aunt, sister, daughter, friend, or anyone else you choose. You may even send a card in memory of a loved one. It’s a double mitzvah!

Women often arrive at shelters with little more than the clothes they are wearing. We fill Gift Bags with items that most of us take for granted: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotions, socks, pillows, towels, gift cards, chocolate, and other “luxury” items.

All orders must be received no later than April 23, 2023.

For nearly 130 years, NCJW has worked to amplify national advocacy, engage in state-level advocacy, and provide opportunities for community service to help area victims of gender-based violence. We thank you for your continued support. Your generous donations will be used for Mother’s Day Gift Bags as well as other NCJWCNS projects benefiting domestic violence survivors and all women, children, and the community. Your donations will support projects such as Luggage for Freedom, which provides suitcases packed with personal and household items and backpacks filled with books and stuffed animals, and the Domestic Violence Court Watch program that offers an impartial assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of court proceedings and the quality of the judges and personnel.
