Authentically Preparing Yourself for the New Year: Spotlight Salon August
7:00 pm — 8:15 pm
Virtual on Zoom
As we prepare for the Holy Days, join us to explore the topics of repentance, forgiveness, and setting yourself up for a fresh start in the New Year (5784):
- What are the “requirements” for forgiveness of ourselves and others?
- How do we work to acknowledge our own mistakes and and repent in a way that helps us actually “do better?”
- What are some actions we can take to live more authentically as we seek a fresh start in the new year?
- What are some lessons from Torah and other Jewish sources that can help us sort this out and some contemporary rituals for preparing ourselves for the new year?
We will discuss these fascinating topics and learn from Dr. Jane Shapiro, an adult educator and co-founder of Orot: Center for New Jewish Learning, where she teaches classes which blend Torah, Jewish history and thought, and the connection of text with poetry, art, and literature. Jane received a prestigious education award in 2017 from the Covenant Foundation.
