COVID-19 has altered so many of our regular volunteer activities. A traditional Soup Kitchen evening would involve 10-15 volunteers cooking and serving a nutritious meal to the homeless and working poor in our community. With special pandemic procedures still in place at Beth Emet, things will look a bit different at our next Soup Kitchen evening on June 23.
All Soup Kitchen guests will receive a nutritious packaged meal as well as a sack lunch to take with them for the next day. Volunteers are needed to pack up and distribute the dinners as well as to make salads and sack lunches.
Here is how you can help:
- In person volunteer*: 2 additional helpers are needed onsite to pack and distribute meals to soup kitchen guests
- Salad Makers*: we need 3 volunteers to prepare large salads (at their homes) and then deliver the completed salads to Beth Emet on June 23
- Lunch Preparation*: we need 3 volunteers to prepare sack lunches (at their homes) & deliver the completed lunches to Beth Emet on June 23
- Monetary donation: local restaurants are generously providing soup kitchen meals at a minimal cost. Click here and select Soup Kitchen fro the dropdown menu. Your donations will be earmarked specifically for the Soup Kitchen.
*Click here to volunteer. Specific details about each position will be sent out in advance of the Soup Kitchen. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
Thank you for volunteering with NCJW at the Beth Emet Soup Kitchen during this challenging time. Your efforts will help us continue to provide healthy meals to those in our community who are hungry.
