Abortion: A Public Cervix Announcement

7:00 pm — 8:15 pm

Virtual on Zoom

Reproductive freedom is a Jewish value. Our next Spotlight Salon is part of NCJW’s Repro Shabbat in which we read the Parshat Mishpatim. This Torah portion contains verses commonly used as the foundation of Judaism’s approach to reproductive health, rights, and access. In these challenging times, we acknowledge the vital importance of this issue.

Please join Laney Katz Becker, author of the novel In the Family Way, in conversation with abortion provider Allison Cowett, MD. They will discuss the state of abortion in Illinois and around the country since the Supreme Court handed down the Dobbs decision, which dismantled Roe v Wade.

Did you know Illinois receives the most out-of-state abortion patients? Or that abortion providers can be arrested if they step foot in a state where abortion is illegal? Register for this engaging and eye-opening conversation about the current landscape of abortion care and ways to help in the fight to make abortion safe and legal below.
