Soil and Soul, a regenerative farming community in Long Grove, Illinois, has developed a robust and comprehensive curriculum for Jewish agriculture that brings ancient agricultural wisdom to farming practices while integrating Jewish values like tikkun olam (repairing the world), bal tashchit (the prohibition against waste), and shmita (the sabbatical year) into their work. Their produce and eggs are donated to both The Ark and Chesed.

Soil and Soul’s mission is to create a fully operational regenerative farm and educational center where both Jewish and non-Jewish communities can rediscover their deep connection to the land while addressing local food insecurity through ethical food production. Today, understanding regenerative farming systems is more critical than ever in order to help confront the global climate crisis. The Soil and Soul work models a way of living and farming that nourishes both human and non-human communities, offering a hopeful, grounded path forward while also sharing the universal wisdom of Jewish traditions.

Registration will be available at the end of April.
