NCJW Soup Kitchen Evenings

For many years, NCJW supporters have volunteered as a group at two different soup kitchens in Evanston – Beth Emet Synagogue  and First Methodist Church. Volunteering and supporting these soup kitchens is truly an act of Tikkun Olam. Even during COVID, when we weren’t able to come together to prepare the meal, our Soup Kitchen “family” came through with both monetary donations to sponsor a meal as well as volunteers to prepare sack lunches for the soup kitchen guests to take with them.  Hopefully our soup kitchen evenings will return soon and we will be able to again gather in the warmth of the kitchen and prepare and serve a wonderful meal to the homeless & working poor in our community. Volunteers are need both to shop for ingredients and prepare and serve the meal. For more information or to volunteer contact [email protected].
