Mother’s Day Project

Make Mother’s Day Meaningful—Twice Over

Thanks to your generosity, NCJW Chicago North Shore fills Mother’s Day Gift Bags with everyday essentials—shampoo, soap, lotion, chocolates, gift cards, and other small comforts—that mean so much to women living in shelters. These items, often taken for granted, are true luxuries during a difficult time.

Your donation helps make Mother’s Day special for women at Family Shelter Services of DuPage County and Mary Lou’s Place in Evanston, while also honoring a special woman in your life.

How it works:
For each donation of $18 or more, we will send a Mother’s Day card to the person you choose—your mother, aunt, daughter, friend, or mentor—letting them know that gifts and good wishes were delivered in their honor: a double mitzvah. Cards may also be sent in memory of a loved one.

For many years, NCJW members and volunteers have supported this annual project to uplift survivors of domestic violence and their children. These shelters provide housing, meals, counseling, job training, and essential support as women prepare to move into independent living.

For over 133 years, NCJW has advanced public policy to prevent gender-based violence and support survivors. Locally, NCJW Chicago North Shore combines advocacy with hands-on service to strengthen our community.

Thank you for helping us care for survivors and spread compassion this Mother’s Day.
Fundraising begins at the end of March.
